She was eight years old when Nikolai Karpol found her talent out.
A little girl Evguenia Artamonova entered Uralotika Team and
started practicing volleyball among many other great players in
USSR for the first time ever in her life.

当她八岁的时候，KARPOL 发现了她的排球天赋。小女孩阿塔从此加入了URALOTIKA队并且有机会和许多优秀的选手在一起开始了她的排球生涯。

1991 World Cup

This was the international debut of Artamonova.She was sixteen years old at this time. I remember the picture that she substituted Sidorenko in themiddle of the game against Japan. She came intothe court quietly and hit the spike sharply. (Not as powerful as she hits now.) Cebukina always kindly
supported her and Artamonova smiled very shyly after she got the point by her spike. Head coach Karpol talked about her " I have never seen the
player like Artamonova who has the tremendous talent."

1991年世界杯是阿塔首次在国际赛场亮相，她只有16岁。在对日本的比赛中她代替SIDORENKO出场，她很冷静地走进场地并且很锐利的扣球。（不像现在这样有力量。）
CEBUKINA总是非常支持她，而当扣球得分后她总是非常害羞的微笑。主教练卡波里评价她“我从未见过比阿塔更有天赋的运动员”。

1992 Barcerona Olympic

Artamonova was there but didn't play much. Main members in this Olympic
were Valentina Ogienko, Marina Nikulina, Irina Smirnova, Svetlana Korytova,
Elena Cebukina, Elena Batoukhtina, Tatiana Sidorenko. They were defeated
by Cuba at final match and got the silver medal.

阿塔参加了１９９２年巴塞罗那奥运会但是上场的机会不多．
俄罗斯队在决赛中负于古巴队取得银牌．

1993 World Grand Prix/World Grand Champions Cup
~ 1994 World Championship

After 1992 Olympic, Artamonova became the Ace attacker of Russia team
and was hoped to be real ace. "Without doubt, Artamonova is going to be the
greatest attacker in this century." That's Nikolai Karpol's words.
Russian team couldn't win the Gold medal at this World Grand Prix and
World grand Champions Cup (both of them were Bronze.) But as we saw
her playing, we're surely convinced of that Karpol's words were right.
Kumi Nakada (LA Olympics　Bronze Medalist) said that"She improves every time I　ee her game." And one of the best middle player in all time Valentina Ogienko (present assistant coach of Russia national team) gave these words.
" Artamonova was born to be playing volleyball. There is no one that I can think of like this." At last I must say she looked very happy just to be there and to play volleyball at that time.

1992年奥运会会后，阿塔成为了俄罗斯的主力主攻并被寄以重望．＂毫无疑问的，阿塔正在成为这个世纪最优秀的攻击手．＂卡波里说．俄罗斯在这一年里没有获得世界女排大奖赛和世界女排精英赛的金牌（都是铜牌）．但是只要看到她的表现，我们都会深信卡波里的话是对的．ＮＡＫＡＤＡ这样说：＂阿塔生来就是为了排球的．＂而且，必须说，她在那个时期是非常快乐的在打排球的．


In 1994, Russia Team obtained the Bronze medal at one of the biggest event,
World Championship. There wasn't Artamonova on the court. She didn't play for　almost a year due to the operation of her knee.

１９９４年，俄罗斯队获得了世锦赛的铜牌．但是阿塔没有在阵中．她差不多有一年时间因为膝盖的手术而没有参加比赛．

1995 World Grand Prix / World Cup

6th place at World Grand Prix, couldn't be even participated in World Cup at this　year. What on earth had happened to Artamonova who was supposed to be the ace of the world ?

世界女排大奖赛第六名，甚至没有参加这一年举行的世界杯．曾经被认为将成为世界上最优秀的选手的阿塔到底怎么了？

1996 Atlanta Olympics

No medal at Olympic. That's a first time worst record in their history.
Right after the fatal mistake of spike she made at 3rd set in Bronze　Medal Match. Artamonova was substituted by Menshova at the beginning of 4th set,and she didn't come back in the court until the end.

１９９６年的亚特兰大奥运会，俄罗斯没有取得奖牌，这是他们历史上的最差记录．在争夺铜牌的比赛中阿塔在第三局中出现了重大失误．第四局开始她被ＭＥＮＳＨＯＶＡ替换下场并且再也没有出场．

Although Russia got the Bronze medal at World Grand Prix 96 after 96 Olympics,it seems Artamonova had got into slump in those two years, 1995~1996. People criticized that she is too mentally weak to be the ace attacker.However she wasn't weak enough to just stay there.
She was remarkably grown and achieved perfect victory at World Grand prix 97. Her tears with victory told us how much she wanted this. Enbracing each other　showed us how much they made the effort fot this.

尽管９６年奥运会后，俄罗斯夺得了当年的世界女排大奖赛，但是阿塔在那两年（９５－９６）确实状态不好．人们批评她认为她做为一名攻击手表现的太脆弱．但是阿塔不会一直站在那里消沉下去．在９７年的世界女排精英赛上，她进步神速并且表现的近乎完美．胜利后的泪水告诉我们，阿塔是多么渴望得到这一刻，而且为了这一刻付出了多么艰辛的努力．


Strong Evguenia Artamonova doesn't let them say she is weak anymore,
she proved that she brilliantly became the ace of the world.

强大的阿塔让那些批评她的人闭上嘴．她终于可以为自己自豪，因为她已经是世界上最顶尖的运动员了．
