Hey Yall,
Long time no entry eh…. well from USA to Brazil to Paraguay to Brazil to USA to Japan, that is where I have been. Following the NORCECA championship where USA finished second and qualified for the World Cup, Beijing Olympic first qualifier, I went to Brazil. I was there training and competing with my team Finasa Osasco for about three weeks. As you know my husband is Brazilian so I have been trying to get my permanent visa. First thing I realized that I am the foreigner, immigrant! Boy, and what bureaucracy to get a permanent visa. I imagine it is as hard or harder to do the same in the America. At any rate, I arrived in Brazil on a Tuesday, traveled the next day for three days. I was back in Sao Paulo for two days, then traveled again for four days. Actually, I wasn’t allowed to play in a couple of games because of my visa…however with special clearance I played in the Cup of Brazil and a couple of Paulista matches.
Now I am in Japan for the WORLD CUP. Wooohooo! We just finished a training block and acclimation period with Team Toyota Auto Body located just outside of Nagoya. Their I saw an old teammate and friend who is currently playing for that team. Not surprising, the team was very scrappy and defended a lot of balls. Our goal now is to finish top three. We most focus on one match at a time as each point can make a difference in the end. Final ranking is based first on win losses. In the event that there is a tie, point ratio will be used to determine the best record.

很长一段时间没有登陆了。前一段时间，我从美国来到了巴西，又去了巴拉圭，然后回到巴西回到了美国，现在在日本了。
跟随美国国家队参加了中北美加勒比海杯赛，最后获得了第二名，顺利拿到了世界杯的参赛资格，这也是通往北京奥运会的第一步。比赛结束后我去了巴西。
我跟随着我Finasa Osasco俱乐部进行了将近三周的的训练和比赛。你们都知道，我的先生是巴西人，所以我一直都在努力拿到永久签证。我首先想到的就是我是外国人，一个移民。我的天，获得一张永久签证简直就是官僚主义作风。我想，在美国获得永久签证也应该是这么难或者更难的吧。无论如何，我在周二到了巴西，之后三天一直在奔走。两天后我回到了圣保罗，之后又马不停蹄地奔走忙碌了四天。实际上我甚至因为我的签证而缺席了两场比赛。幸而，经过努力，困难消除了，我打了一场巴西杯的比赛，两场保禄会比赛。
现在，我已经在日本备战世界杯啦，哈哈！我们刚刚结束了跟位于名古屋附近的Toyota Auto Body一场拦网和适应性训练。我在她们队中发现了一个老队友，也是老朋友了。不出意外，我们的对手斗志非常旺盛，防起了很多球。我们现在的目标就是打进世界杯前三。我们要重视每一场比赛，因为每一分都会关系到最终的排名。最后的排名首先就建立在胜负上，如果出现平局的话，得失分比率就会被用来决定最后的排名。

[COLOR="magenta"][B]November 2nd, 2007 [/B][/COLOR]
World Cup 2008 has begun… USA opened against Peru and won in strait sets. We allowed more points to them than I would have liked but it is always good to win. To Peru’s credit, they played really scrappy defense and served pretty tough… Tomorrow we have an early match starting at 12:35 verses Cuba. Cuba is always a fun team to play. They are very athletic and attack the ball aggressively, makes blocking them that much sweeter!
One match down, ten to go…

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]世界杯开始啦！美国队首场直落三局战胜了秘鲁队。我们让对手拿的分超出了我想要让她们拿的分，不过，能够拿下比赛就是好的。
就秘鲁队来说，她们在防守上非常顽强，发球也很厉害。
明天我们对古巴的比赛是早场比赛，12：35分开始。跟古巴队比赛总会充满乐趣。她们非常强劲，进攻非常有侵略性，如果能够拦住她们的球将会令人更加开心。
一场比赛结束啦，还有十场比赛。

WOOHOOO! 2-0 that is us, USA team. We beat Cuba in three! Just kidding four would have been nice but we’ll take a 3-2 victory coming from behind in the fifth set! We were treated to McDonald’s for the victory. Can you believe I said no to McDonald’s fries and FRIED apple pies! I did enjoy a filetofish sandwich and large Coke.
Nine more to go. Tomorrow we will play Poland.

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]哇哦，美国队已经两连胜啦。我们3：0战胜了古巴。开个玩笑，呵呵。
如果能够四局就分出胜负的话就好了。不过，我们打满了5局蔡艰难得以3：2拿下了比赛。
我们以吃麦当劳的方式来庆祝胜利。你相信我没有吃麦当劳的薯条和苹果派吗？我只是吃了一个双层的鱼汉堡和一大杯可乐。
还有九场比赛，明天我们对阵波兰队。

[COLOR="magenta"][B]November 6th, 2007 [/B][/COLOR]
OK win number FOUR… Let’s keep going USA! We did exactly what we wanted to today. And that is to use this match against Kenya to work on specifics of team USA. Except for the second game we really steadied our passing, served tough and just had a lot of fun keeping our energy up. I played only the first set, but in the box we find a way to be as vocal and excited as if we were on the court. Jen came in and did a great job. And was named Best Player of the match. Other substitutions were made as well. So look out Brazil, it will be a team effort tomorrow’s fight! As Tara used to say GLOVES OFF!
No McDonald’s yet this leg yet but the girls have found what? Starbucks! There is also a Mister Donut near by so anyone to serves a ball that doesn’t touch the net or pole or the strings pulling the net tight, will have to pay up. That would mean number 6 from Cuba, Ramirez. Hehehehehe.

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]我们四连胜啦。美国队要继续勇猛前进！我们今天打出了我们想要的比赛。跟肯尼亚的比赛完全展示了我们美国队的水平。除了第二局外，我们传球非常稳健，发球也很厉害，这也使我们保留了体能。我只打了第一局，但是在替补席，我们找到了一个可以和在场上一样高喊和兴奋的方式。Jen替换了我，打得也非常好，并且获得了本场比赛最佳运动员的称号。也做了其他的换人。展望明天对巴西的比赛，这将会时需要全队共同努力的战斗！就像Tara曾经说过的那样，拼了！
这场比赛后没吃麦当劳，不过你猜姑娘们找到了什么？星巴克！附近也有一家Mister Donut。所以，谁在场上发球失误后还拽拉球网就应该来埋单。那也就是古巴队的6号，拉米雷斯。哈哈。

Still UNDEFEATED! WOOHOO! All Praise be to God. What an awesome win coming back from down 0-2. It was a great team win. I only played a bit in the first set, getting 1 kill of a couple of attempts, and some touches on the block, then coach decided to make some changes. We still went on to lose that set and the second. But what a turn around in the final three sets. The passing steadied out, our offense was great especially Tay and Kim off the great defensive plays of Logan and Nicole. Everyone who entered in the match did a great job. I got a headache from cheering my teammates on from the sideline. I think Berg will be hoarse tomorrow.
Well, we will enjoy the win until our next practice. It has been a long time coming beating Brazil so we’ll have to savour it a bit. Then focus on those teams at the next stop. Round three we’ve got Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Korea…

这真是一场伟大的胜利。我只在第一局打了一会儿，有两次扣球机会，得了一分，在拦网上拦起了一些球，然后，教练决定做出一些改变。我们仍然输掉了第一局和第二局。但是，后面三局我们来了个惊天大逆转。我们的一传很稳健，防守也很神奇，特别是像汉尼弗和格拉斯这样不属于防守型打法的队员，汤姆和戴维斯表现也非常好。每一个上场的人都表现得非常不错。我在替补席上不断给场上队员加油都有点头痛了，我想博格明天一定会声音沙哑。
好吧，我们直到下一次练习的时候都还会品尝这场胜利。我们不得不好好品尝，因为我们好久都没战胜巴西了。之后我们会把精力放到下一站的对手身上去。第三轮我们的对手是多米尼加，泰国和韩国。

SIX and ZERO! That’s us… Granted our last match verses Dominican Republic was not pretty but I will take an ugly win any day. The tournament is starting to take it’s toll on our team. I am sure other teams are dealing with injuries too. Last tournament this plague hit our outsides. This time around there is no bias. Tay’s foot is hurting her, Cassie’s knee, Robyn’s knee and ankle, Berg’s knee, Heather’s calf, Jen’s knee…so all you praying folks lift these players up specifically for healing and pray God’s protection over the rest of us with our lesser aches and colds. You might think, “Wow, but Tay scored 20+ verses Brazil and the setter’s are still playing, so on…” that is the nature of the game, our work. We don’t have sick days, or personal days. We just play right through it. Which makes me thank God for giving us the strength to keep pressing on. When one absolutely cannot go any further or not performing one’s best or the coach just need a change the rhythm, one has always got what? TEAMMATES. What a great team sport! GO VOLLEYBALL!

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]我们已经六连胜拉。虽然对多米尼加的比赛打得不是很漂亮，但是只要能赢就是好事。从中北美锦标赛开始，伤病就开始折磨我们得队员，我确信其他队应该也在为伤病头痛。中北美锦标赛伤病折磨了我们的主攻手，而这次机会每个人都杯伤病惠顾了。汉尼弗的脚伤一直是个问题，布赛的膝盖，阿莫的膝盖和脚裸，博格的膝盖，波恩的小腿，乔尹斯的膝盖。所以，你们可要祈祷她们早日康复，祈祷主保佑我们剩下的人少点疼痛和感冒。你可能会想，“可是汉尼弗在对巴西的比赛中得了20多分，我们的二传仍然在打”等等。那是比赛的天性，是我们的工作。我们没有生病的一天，或者私人的一天。我们从始至终都得好好打。如果某个人不能继续下去或者发挥不出最好的水平，或者教练决定在节奏上进行些改变，我们有的是什么？是队友。这是一个多么伟大的集体项目啊。加油，排球！
今天我们对阵泰国队。

[COLOR="magenta"][B]November 10th, 2007 [/B][/COLOR]
Today we are 7-0! We beat Thailand in four. Thailand was the first Asian team we have played against. They played well too. It seemed we would take off to a big lead as we opened up 4-0. They quickly caught up with strong serving. I tell you, I think that most teams strategy against USA is to serve tough. We wanted to serve them tough as well to slow down their offense, but we made a lot of errors. Playing against a shorter team is tricky. Usually they have very good defense, and very skilled attackers to try to irritate the block, by tooling it. In the end, our strength over powered them. Tay was unstoppable. Today’s match was good preparation for tomorrow’s match against Korea! And no all Asian teams are not short. They have several 6′2 players and one who is a bit taller than me!

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]今天我们七连胜啦。我们四局拿下了泰国。泰国是我们对阵的第一支亚洲球队。她们打得也很好。我们开场4比0领先后看起来我们要遥遥领先了，但是她们用强发球很快就追上了。我告诉你，我想大多数球队对美国的战术就是强发球。我们也想通过加强发球来冲击她们的防守，但是我们失误了很多。跟一支比自己矮的队伍比赛总是需要机警。通常，她们的防守都很好，攻手的手上技术很好，利用技术来突破拦网。最后，我们比她们力量比她们更足。汉尼弗简直无法阻挡。今天的比赛是对明天对韩国比赛的很好准备。不是所有亚洲球队的球员个子都很矮，她们有很多六英尺二寸的球员，有一个比我还高。

[COLOR="magenta"][B]November 11th, 2007 [/B][/COLOR]

We are definitely on a roll. 8-0! Wow it really felt good to take care of business against Korea. Especially since they decided to rest three of their main players for the match verses Brazil because they thought they would have a better chance to beat USA. NOT! Not this time… They still played incredible defense and served tough against us. But our attack, block, and just overall game was stronger. I am really proud of my teammates. Some players were limping after the game. For us these days, that phrase “no pain no gain is very literal.”
We were promised McDonald’s today after our match but seeing the lines three across, out the door…we passed right on by. It reminded me of my dad. When I was younger my dad and I would stop at McDonald’s on the way home. As I got older, this was a cruel joke, he would act like he was going to stop, then speed by it. Of course there are a million and one McDonald’s on every other block, so eventually he would stop at one (some times)…
Well, we head out bright and early on tomorrow. Final leg, GO USA!

[COLOR="seagreen"][B]我们非常干脆得又赢下一场比赛。8连胜了。跟韩国队打比赛得感觉好极了。特别是她们在对阵巴西的比赛中让她们的三个主力休息，因为她们认为她们打美国队会更有机会。不，至少这次不是这样。她们的防守仍然难以置信，发球也一如既往的凶狠。但是，我们的进攻、拦网，可以说所有比赛数据都比她们强。我真为我的队友感到骄傲。有一些队员比赛结束后甚至脚是跛着走的。这几天，对我们来说，没有疼痛就没有回报这句话实在是一点也不夸张。
我们被许诺今天比赛完后可以去吃麦当劳，但是我们经过门外，却没进去。这让我想起了我的爸爸。当我还是小孩子的时候，我爸爸和我经常在我们回家的路上去麦当劳吃东西，当我长大了，这变得是一个残酷的笑话，他会表现出他要停下来了，却突然加速路过。当然，每隔一条街道，哪里都会有百万计的麦当劳，所以有时候他会在一家店门前停下来。
好拉，我们明天要早起呢。最后的冲刺啦，加油美国队！[/B][/FONT][/COLOR]

Well, Yall,
Rough day at the office on yesterday. We went down 1-3. I believe it would have been a different outcome had we won the first set. We had SOOOOOO many unforced errors. I know a lot of people think, Serbia came out of nowhere. However they are FIVB world ranked ninth behind USA. They played exceptional defense behind the blocking clinic they put on.
But today is a new day, PRAISE GOD. Now it is time to refocus and take it out on the Japanese team.

对昨天的比赛大致描述下。我们1：3输掉了比赛。我相信如果我们第一局拿下的话，结果就会不同了。我们的非受迫性失误实在是太多了。我想很多人都认为塞尔维亚实在名不见经传，但是她们的排名在美国后面一位，排名第九。她们昨天针对性拦网后面的防守异常的好。
但是，今天是新的一天了。祈祷下上帝。现在是把我们的精力集中到日本队身上的时候了。
