The delay began at 12:40 p.m. local time with play resuming at 2 p.m. in the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour event at the Stade Unipprix. The teams of Wang Jie/Tian Jia of China and Stephanie Pohl/Okka Rau of Germany won the matches in a pair of three-setters to advance to the finals of the contender's bracket where they will play teams from China and Brazi, respectively.
